PUBLIC NOTICE
The Miami Conservancy District, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, in conjunction with Ohio Department of Public Safety, Emergency Management Agency, has applied for Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for Germantown, Englewood, Taylorsville Upstream Dam Walls Rehabilitation. The objective of HMA programs is to fund mitigation measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from future hazard events or disasters.
The Germantown, Englewood, Taylorsville Upstream Dam Walls Rehabilitation project addresses structural instabilities and deteriorated wall concrete on the three Class I (high hazard) dam’s primary spillways. The project will enhance each dam’s functionality, stability, and long-term performance and will create safer, stronger, and more resilient structures that meets current engineering standards while improving its ability to serve the community well into the future. There are no adverse effects to any wetland or floodplain.
Under the National Environmental Policy Act, EO 11988 and EO 11990, public notice is required of any federal actions that may affect floodplains or wetlands. Under the National Historic Preservation Act, public notice is also required for some projects which have the potential to affect historic properties. All necessary permits and approvals will be obtained prior to construction and completion of the project.
