Grant funds are available to local non-profits interested in starting new projects that benefit water in the region. The Miami Conservancy District (MCD) is offering an additional $5,000 in matching funds to organizations that qualify for grants from The Greater Dayton Conservation Fund. The Greater Dayton Conservation Fund (GDCF) of The Dayton Foundation is accepting grant proposals for new projects that protect the natural environment through education, restoration and scientific research. Innovative and original projects that include collaboration are especially welcome. Your organization can qualify for up to $5,000 in grant funding with up to another $5,000 from MCD for projects that benefit water. MCD is sponsoring the matching funds to support and encourage projects that protect and enhance water. Qualifying organizations must join the Partners for the Environment; be recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization with a primary program focus on conservation, earth stewardship, or environmental education; and benefit the greater Miami Valley region. GDCF is particularly interested in projects that preserve/restore natural habitats, have broad age-group involvement, focus on conservation and water quality and provide nature experiences for urban residents. To qualify for the MCD matching funds:
